The author of a book on surviving Pamplona’s famed Running of the Bulls was mauled by a bull in the most recent event, according to the Daily News.
Chicago native Bill Hillmann authored the book “Fiesta: How to Survive the Bulls of Pamplona,” which was published in June. His friend and editor Alexander Fiske-Harrison called him the “best young American runner on the streets today” on his blog Tuesday, just one day before Hillmann was attacked.
A bull speared the 32-year-old in the leg. He was immediately taken into surgery and Fiske-Harrison said he is doing well, save for having some troubles breathing because of choking on irony.
