On Thursday night, a bunch of members of the media, including an intern from the Catholic News Service with the biggest, brightest, toothy smile you’ve ever seen, showed up to Sixth Engine to watch the debut of CNN “Politics On Tap.” The guest of the hour was media darling, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

Interviewing him was one of Jeff Zucker‘s fresh faces of CNN, Jake Tapper. Also on hand for the interview and panel was National Journal‘s serial tweeter Ron Fournier, CNN’s Brianna Keilar and Peter Hamby, as well as outgoing House Maj. Leader Eric Cantor’s (R-Va.) deputy chief of staff  Doug Heye, who was tending bar.

Journos who came to watch (and drink brewskys) included: WaPo‘s Jackie Kucinich and “reported” media blogger Erik Wemple*, BuzzFeeder‘s John Stanton and Benny Johnson, FishbowlDC’s Nick MassellaYahoo! NewsChris Moody, and the aforementioned Catholic News Service intern Winston Pierre. Others in the mix: CNN publicist Matt Dornic, CNN “The Lead” publicist Lauren Pratapas and National Journal‘s Johanna Gerlega.

Below we have a photograph from last night courtesy of CNN. Let’s have some fun, shall we? Please send in your best and funniest captions to Betsy@DailyCaller.com or TheMirror@DailyCaller.com. All captions will be considered anonymous unless otherwise specified.

*Wemple, as many know, contributed to the demise of Robert Allbritton’s TBD local news project.

1. That young man with glasses in the baby blue button-down may look harmless, but that’s BuzzFeed’s Benny Johnson. He’s listening intently but secretly thinking, ‘If I can just maneuver myself behind them, I can turn this into the world’s greatest selfie.’

2. Imagined Ron Fournier thought bubble: ‘Straight talk my ass, Senator.’
