In LeBron James’s ongoing identity crisis, he has now resorted to asking Instagram what jersey number he should pick for his time back in Cleveland.

The caption said, “6 or 23?……”

His followers have let loose, leaving comments like, “If you use 6 I’ll die,” or “6 because you shouldn’t wear Jordan’s number.”

One follower even said “6. U said no one should wear 23 cuz mj. U can’t turn back on ur words,” because he obviously isn’t familiar with James’s history.

The basketball star, who a week ago signed a two-year contract with the Cavaliers, has worn No. 32, his freshman year of high school, No. 23, since his sophomore year of high school, and changed to No. 6 when he joined the Miami Heat, when he said all players should relinquish No. 23 league-wide in honor of Michael Jordan.

“I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized in some way, soon,” James said in 2010.

Meanwhile, Dwayne Wade, who has agreed to stay with the Heat, is keeping busy playing basketball with dolphins.

The caption, directed at James, reads, “My new teammate that I’m throwing lobs 2 now haaaa. Great time @seaworldsandiego.. #mensvacay #dolphinfever”
