A leader of the separatist rebels in Ukraine was wearing a jean jacket Monday when he attempted to disprove accusations his fighters shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 by declaring the Internet to be full of lies.

A tweet, an intercepted conversation and a photo of a Russian missile system seem to confirm that the rebels are responsible for downing the plane. But when CNN’s Chris Cuomo sat down with Alexander Borodai Monday and asked him about the evidence, Borodai denied the allegations and rolled his eyes.

“So if you have the tweet and the conversations and the pictures that all point to your forces, how do you deny that it was your forces that brought down the plane?” Cuomo asked.

“It is very simple to disprove it,” the prime minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic responded. “All the information that comes through the Internet, in my opinion, is practically all lies.”
