      Newt Gingrich

Newt Gingrich is a former Speaker of the House and candidate for president. He is the co-host of CNN’s Crossfire and author of 25 books, including his latest Breakout: Pioneers of the Future, Prison Guards of the Past, and the Epic Battle that Will Decide America’s Fate. He is an advisor to Freedom Born, a 501c4 formed in 2011 to advocate for common sense solutions to create new jobs, stabilize the economy, and put more money into the pockets of hard working Americans. Freedom Born engages in grassroots advocacy and has launched a multistate effort to educate citizens about the Gainful Employment Regulation. For more information on this Freedom Born project, please visit www.opportunitydenied.org.

The “gainful employment” regulation, then, penalizes institutions the more they meet the needs of low-income students. And it denies those students the support they require to attend programs they believe will help them secure gainful employment!

In short, when you kill job training, you kill job opportunities.

Fortunately for America’s working adult and low income students, the Department of Education’s Gainful Employment regulation is not yet officially implemented. So there is still time to prevent Washington from blocking the opportunity for millions of Americans to improve their lives and get a better job.

It is time we demand our congressmen and senators – and those running for office – to promise to take measures to block the Department of Education from implementing this destructive regulation.
