Will Ferrell and “Anchorman 2” producer Adam McKay are teeming up to bring back the failed but awesome ’80s cult classic “Manimal.”
McKay said the film will be tongue-in-cheek and over-all a comedy. “I know the movie will be funny and entertaining, but will it be the first film to win a Pulitzer? We’ll just have to see,” he told Deadline.
“Manimal” was about a guy who fought crime using his ability to morph into snakes, eagles and other super cool animals, because he was “master of the secrets that divide men from animal.” It was canceled after eight episodes, for some reason.
The original series co-producer will work with Ferrell and McKay on the film.
