CNN’s Fareed Zakaria is officially straddling three media worlds. He’s going to work for The Atlantic and Quartz as a contributing editor. He will remain with CNN. He has a column at the Washington Post.

Is this too much? When will he sleep?

Publisher David Bradley is beside himself.

“This is one of those wonderful high-water marks in The Atlantic’s 157 year history,” said Bradley in a statement. “Our founders (Emerson, Holmes, Longfellow …) would welcome Fareed enthusiastically—and then worry about raising their own game.”

Zakaria, in turn, sound elated. “I have read The Atlantic with pleasure for three decades. It is the best forum for ideas in the world and I’m delighted to be a part of it and Quartz,” said Zakaria.
