MSNBC host Joe Scarborough turned harshly away from Israel over what he now sees as an “indiscriminate” offensive against Palestinians in Gaza, calling the fight “asinine” and declaring the U.S. “cannot be associated with this if it continues.”

The “Morning Joe” host and former congressman declared himself a long-time supporter of Israel on Thursday. “The joke in Congress was anytime I wanted a key to the city of Tel Aviv, I could get a gold-plated one,” he said.

But the continued civilian death toll from the relentless Israeli bombardment seems to have taken its own toll on Scarborough. “I’m sorry, this is just asinine,” he accused. “This continued killing of women and children in a way that appears to be indiscriminate is asinine.”

“It is bad — of course it’s tragic for the Palestinian people — it is bad for the Israeli people,” Scarborough said, declaring we will “rue the day that this is happening every day.”

The MSNBC host fretted over what will replace Hamas should Israel continue its apparent campaign to destroy the terrorist regime — warning that it could be much worse.

“We share Israel’s values a helluva lot — a lot more than the people that they’re bombing — but you know what? The United States of America, we cannot be associated with this if this continues,” he said.

“This is so bad,” Scarborough concluded. “Not only for the Israeli people, but for us.”
