Democratic Sen. Mark Udall is criticizing his Republican challenger’s stance on abortion in a new ad that is sure to outrage pro-life voters.

Udall’s new “Backwards” TV ad against opponent Cory Gardner, a Republican congressman, features a woman holding a girl that looks about five or six years old while discussing abortion.

After the ad’s narrator criticizes Gardner’s “history supporting harsh anti-abortion laws,” the mother, with the girl in her lap, says: “I want my daughter to have the same choices I do.”

Pro-life groups in Colorado are pouncing on Udall.

“His new pro-abortion ad which features a little girl and her mother, shows the citizens of Colorado just how far he will go to promote his radical abortion agenda,” Sarah Zagorski, the executive director of Colorado Citizens for Life, told The Daily Caller.

“Sen. Mark Udall has consistently shown the people of Colorado where he stands on abortion,” she said. “From voting in favor of unlimited abortion funding for businesses like Planned Parenthood, to refusing to support parental consent laws for minors, Udall holds an extreme abortion-on-demand view and will not protect the women and children of Colorado.”

This is not the first time Udall has run an ad slamming Gardner over abortion and birth control featuring the same woman and child.

Udall and his Democratic supporters are running ads like these to motivate single women, who often stay home during midterm elections, to show up on election day.

The Colorado Senate race is expected to be one of the closest in the country: The Real Clear Politics polling average has Udall at 45.5 percent, and Gardner at 44 percent.
