Conservative radio host Mark Levin lamented what he described as President Obama’s profound indifference toward the wars raging overseas, declaring that “the world is on fire, and this man doesn’t seem to give a damn!”
Levin spoke with Fox News’ Sean Hannity about Obama’s lack of engagement with the crisis in the Middle East, where ultra-violent jihadists from the Islamic State continue to terrorize and brutalize millions of people in northern Iraq and Syria.
“Our enemies — the terrorists — have never had it so good under this truly pathetic commander-in-chief,” the radio host began, explaining that Obama should be in Washington — rather than on vacation — working to get congressional approval for broader military action and pushing American allies worldwide to assist our efforts.
Levin slammed the president for his excuses and finger-pointing at the prior administration for the crisis.
“I’ve been around a little while,” he said, “and I’ve seen a lot of presidents come and go. I don’t think we’ve ever had a more pathetic commander in chief in our life.”
“Does he not know what his policies are?” he asked. “What are his policies? What is his foreign policy? Can his people even tell us what his foreign policy is? Can he? Can his secretary of defense or secretary of state?”
“Our enemies are on the move,” Levin asserted. “They’re on the move because of him. Not because of the prior president, not because of other presidents, not because of James Buchanan or John Tyler or anybody else, because of him!”
“He’s hollowing out our military,” he accused. “At the same time he’s telling the world what we’re not going to do. He’s playing golf. He’s on Martha’s Vineyard. He’s busy attacking Republicans. The guy is — he’s not focused. He’s disconnected from reality. We have a real problem in this country.”
“I don’t know what we do about it, but people are suffering overseas,” Levin explained. “They’re being wiped out. We have genocide going on. People are looking to the United States, and they have to look to Martha’s Vineyard and find him on the ninth hole.”
“I don’t know if he reads his intelligence reports,” he said. “I don’t know if he even knows what’s going on, if he’s bored with the job. Whatever the hell the problem is, the world is on fire and this man doesn’t seem to give a damn!”
