She just hasn’t been this brazen about it.
Davis’ new ad, Justice, references the 1984 accident that paralyzed Abbott, while showing a photo of a wheelchair. “A tree fell on Greg Abbott,” the narrator says. “He sued and got millions.”
The ad then cites legal cases Abbott was involved in. “Since then, he’s spent his career working against other victims,” the narrator says.
With the election less than a month away and Davis trailing in the polls, clearly her campaign is done with more subtle reminders that Texans shouldn’t vote for Greg Abbott because he’s a cripple.
The truth is that at age 19, I was a teenage mother living alone with my daughter in a trailer and struggling to keep us afloat on my way to a divorce. And I knew then that I was going to have to work my way up and out of that life if I was going to give my daughter a better life and a better future and that’s what I’ve done. I am proud of where I came from and I am proud of what I’ve been able to achieve through hard work and perseverance. And I guarantee you that anyone who tries to say otherwise hasn’t walked a day in my shoes.

That was last January. Back then, I didn’t think it was deliberate. I didn’t think even Davis would sink that low. But given this new attack ad, I’m done giving her the benefit of even that doubt.
And you can be damn sure that if their parties were reversed, if Republican Wendy Davis put out this ad about Democrat Greg Abbott, it would be the top national story for days. But Davis is a big fan of killing babies, and she wore pink sneakers to filibuster for it. So she’s the favorite among liberals and the media (PTR).
