Imitation is the highest form of flattery, blah blah blah.

Except when is it a tad already done?

Today CNBC, a 25-year-old network announced plans to redesign their graphics package for an apparently more streamlined approach. And if this looks familiar, that’s because it is — Fox Business made the switch back in 2012.

When FBN underwent their makeover, among the major differences was a “wing” (an info panel on the right side of the screen) which they removed. At the time, the only network that reportedly still had this wing was CNBC. Is this all just really catty? Probably. Still, with the new, cleaner-looking redesign, CNBC’s right side graphic disappears. Hmmm, this all sounds rather familiar.

Hey CNBC…Welcome to 2014!

See the differences between FBN then and now. (It’s precisely CNBC’s copycat redesign.)
