In an appearance on ABC’s “The View” Tuesday, Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren gave a glowing review of fellow Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen, especially her work for the people of Vermont. The problem, of course, is that Shaheen represents the neighboring state of New Hampshire.

“Now here’s a woman–talk about American history— the only woman in the history of the United States who has been both a governor and a senator and independent out there working for the people of Vermont,” Warren said.

The weekend before, Warren mixed up New Hampshire with Massachusetts. “The people of Massachusetts are not taking Scott Brown,” she said. “They’re taking Jeanne Shaheen!”

Shaheen is currently locked in a tough reelection battle against former Republican Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown. Given that the key charge against Brown is that he is a carpet-bagging out-of-stater, it’s probably fair to say Shaheen does not appreciate being confused with a senator from another state.
