Tom Brokaw may have ceded his job as the Nightly News anchor almost a decade ago, but he sure knows how to make some noise come election night.

While discussing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s reelection victory, Brokaw’s phone alarm went off to his apparent WARNING siren/ringtone/alarm.

Brokaw let the alarm go off for nearly 10 seconds before reaching into his pocket sheepishly to turn it off.

The NBC News special correspondent put the phone to his ear, telling someone on the other line: “Yes, I will remember to bring home the milk. Don’t worry about it…and I’ll feed the dog in the morning. It’s going to be okay,” he finished, putting the phone back in his jacket.

“I’m sorry about that. At any rate…” he added before carrying on discussing McConnell’s victory some more.
