Bill O’Reilly told Fox News White House correspondent Ed Henry that he feared that if President Obama issued executive amnesty, and then vetoed Congress’ efforts to roll it back, the effects would be a virtual “civil war”.

“Here’s the effect on the country, is that civil war breaks out, you have civil war breaking out,” the host of “The O’Reilly Factor” said. “That’s where it will happen. Instead of concentrating on the economy and making things better and raising wages as I proposed.”

Henry disagreed, saying “an executive order is not going to cause a civil war.”

“Sure it is!” said O’Reilly, “If the Republicans come in and the first thing they do is pass a law to negate the executive order and then the president vetoes that law, that’s a civil war, Ed! That’s a civil war. It will take up months and months and months.”

If he vetoes it,” Henry pushed back. “…If they pass a bill that finally makes sense and secures the border — what he’s been calling for for years — and the President vetoes it, don’t you think the President is going to look silly?”

“He’s going to look silly if he makes an executive order that they negate and then he signs the negation,” allowed O’Reilly. “That’s going to look silly. This is serious business. This could place this country in an untenable position, particularly with the economy being — it has to be healed. “
