Asked about how he feels about capturing the end of Matthews’ ridiculous leg tingle, Cooke told The Mirror, “Did I do that? I just saw that photograph on NRO and thought it was hilarious. Apparently, Twitter did too. I’m fascinated by Matthews. He’s completely off his trolley, but I can’t help but love him for his florid language and his infectious enthusiasm. In some regards, he’s the complete opposite of me. He finds certain politicians and turns them into messiahs; I hate pretty much everybody in public life. Still, If I met him in a bar, I imagine I’d be there until five o’clock in the morning and we’d end up being great friends until we both died of liver failure.”
