Can Arianna Huffington Be Oprah?

Earlier in the year when Arianna Huffington released her book, Thrive, she allowed Zulily to curate a bunch of her favorite things on its site, which offered them at a deep discount. Things like sheets and sleep mist and a pink ribbed robe.

Well, now Arianna Winfrey, er, sorry, just Arianna at this point, has taken the whole thing to another level. Because let’s be honest, would Oprah allow her favorite things to appear on Zulily? That’s a little lowbrow isn’t it?

Now, you too can get Arianna’s favorite things shipped to you at $100 a pop every three months via Quarter Co., which allows “people you care about” to curate their favorite shit. Her favorite items are supposed to help you “stay present in the moment.” The catch is, it’s a big surprise — you won’t know what kind of crap you’re getting until it arrives on your doorstep and you’re stuck with it.

We were able to sift through a previous package to give you a sense of the goods. Arianna’s September package, for example, included an Exclusive Sleep Mask, Mother’s Little Helper Tea (it has peppermint, valerian root and cornflowers), Stress Fix Concentrate, a travel alarm clock, a one month subscription to Headspace (a site that teaches you to meditate) and supposedly “more.” A quick scan through Headspace shows stories on everything from how to meditate your way out of a bad hair day to breathing deeply. Bottom line: They promise their meditation sessions will help you worry less and smile more.

Along with all that, you’ll get a “personal” letter from Arianna. They assure, “Arianna Huffington always sends along a note to describe the theme of the package and the meaning behind each object.”
