Breitbart News Thought AG Nominee Loretta Lynch Was White And Worked For the Clintons

Only Breitbart News could make a mistake this, er, colorful.

Over the weekend, Breitbart’s mustachioed freelancer Todd Huston as well as senior editor-at-large and in-house counsel Joel Pollak bylined stories that confused the black Loretta Lynch being nominated for Attorney General for the white one who was one of Bill Clinton‘s defense attorneys during the Whitewater scandal, as noticed by GotNewsCharles Johnson.

At the time of TPM‘s reporting, the stories were apparently still posted on the site. The one by Huston has since been removed entirely, but Media Matters screen grabbed it for your viewing pleasure. Evidence of the story’s existence also still shows up on Google. Breitbart added ambitious corrections to their stories — it’s hard to correct an entire story that’s one thousand percent wrong, but they’ve done it.

Huston’s story has been deleted.

Although it still shows up on Google like this:

The other story by Pollak has this correction.

Really. That portion?

See the rest of Pollak’s story on black Loretta Lynch here. It’s all about how black Loretta Lynch is a “qualified” but “political” pick.  In one breath Pollak calls her an “open Democrat” and says she’s created trouble for Republicans. In another, he wonders why she wasn’t nominated over former AG Eric Holder.

This is also hilarious. Pollak writes, “Despite Lynch’s qualifications, she has been thrust into a cynical game involving race, gender and identity. It’s hardly a fresh start for the Obama administration.”

Seems the Obama administration isn’t the only one having problems with things like “race, gender and identity.”

What’s next — will Breitbart confuse black Loretta Lynch for another white female?

There is that 82-year-old country singer Loretta Lynn.
