As former President George W. Bush continues his tour promoting his latest book “41,” a biography about his father George H.W. Bush, speculation continues about brother Jeb Bush’s possible White House run.

Former White House chief of staff Andrew Card asked the 43rd president about a possible Jeb run at a discussion about his father Tuesday in College Station, Texas. The 43rd president was quite clear, saying “he ought to run for president.”

“Obviously there is a lot of speculation on Jeb. I can tell you, and I speak for 41 (George H.W. Bush) when I say this, he ought to run for president and would be a great president should he win.

“We can pressure him all we want and it’s not going to matter. He knows the consequences of his decision. He doesn’t fear failure or success.

“As he said, he will make sure it is the right thing for his family, and that should be his priority and so he’s going to make a very informed discussion.

“People always say, pressure him to run. You can’t pressure somebody on such an important decision. It is not going to cause him to think positively or negatively if we harass him. Only he can decide and that’s what he’s in the process of doing. I don’t know the timetable, we’ll see,” said the former two-term president.

“It would be awesome if he runs, and if he doesn’t we all love him,” Bush added.
