Asked by paparazzi to name the best part of her Monday visit to the White House, Barbadian singer Rihanna cited President Obama’s race.
“What’s the best thing about visiting the White House?” a reporter with TMZ asked the 26-year-old.
“My president being black,” Rihanna responded.
She had dropped by the White House to meet with administration officials to discuss “My Brother’s Keeper,” a program aimed at helping minority youth.
While there, Rihanna also popped in to the White House briefing room where she posed behind the podium where White House press secretary Josh Earnest usually holds court.
The singer is scheduled to perform in Washington D.C. at Tuesday’s Concert for Valor to commemorate Veterans Day.
