Hey, we all make mistakes. Sometimes really stupid ones. But this week was Mediaite reporter Evan McMurry‘s turn, when he wrote an entire story about a Republican criticizing the GOP and cozying up to President Obama. Except it wasn’t a Republican at all — it was a Democrat. As a result, the story came down and fast.
McMurry, who is ordinarily known for being an extremely thorough writer, wrote that Congressman-elect Ruben Gallego (“R”-Ariz.) broke ranks with Republicans on CNN’s “State of the Union” program hosted by Candy Crowley and backed Obama’s executive action on immigration. “Spoiler,” writes McMurry: “The rest of the panel didn’t agree.”
