A woman was saved by her family of gun owners — her husband and two sons — after a man attacked her in her Gonzales, Louisiana driveway and tried to kidnap her Sunday evening.

The attacker, Chad Babin, grabbed the woman as she was unloading her car. Babin, who investigators believe was high on drugs at the time, forced his way into her house.

That woke the woman’s husband who grabbed his gun and tried to shoot Babin. The firearm was knocked away during a struggle.

Babin and the man fought on the ground. According to The Acadiana Advocate, the couple called their two sons into the house. They had just returned from a duck hunting trip and were carrying guns of their own. They held Babin on his stomach on the living room floor at gunpoint until police arrived.

“He starts walking toward her, and he starts cussing at her, saying ‘come here you *****,’ and he grabbed her arm and started pulling her towards him and says ‘you’re coming with me,'” the husband told WBRZ.

“We all have rights as citizens, and I say stand up for them. Don’t back down from nobody if you are right.”

Judging by Babin’s mug shot, the family also got a few licks in on the criminal in the meantime.

Babin is charged with battery, criminal damage of property, home invasion and kidnapping.

The woman was not injured while the husband suffered only a few bruises.
