Host Candy Crowley noted that Bush had often jokingly called Bill Clinton his “brother from another mother,” and wondered what that made Hillary Clinton. “My sister-in-law!” laughed Bush.

“Yeah,” said Bush, suddenly serious. “And I think he’d beat her.”

“Do you?” asked Crowley.

“I do,” he responded.

“She’s formidable.”

“No question, very much so,” agreed Bush. “But so is he, though.”

“So you’ll take that bet?” Crowley said, who seemed to really struggle with the notion, despite Bush making himself perfectly clear three times.

“Absolutely,” Bush said. “Of course, you’re not going to make it because you’re an objective newscaster.”
