John Wall’s Emotional Post-Game Interview [VIDEO]

Washington Wizards guard John Wall became emotional during a post-game interview when asked about his young friend Miyah Telemaque-Nelson. Miyah passed away this week from cancer at the age of six.

“This was an emotional game for me. This was for Miyah…to see a little kid that fights so hard for cancer and can’t beat it. This game’s for her,” said Wall during the interview before tearing up.

The basketball star became friends with Miyah last season and helped grant her wish of meeting Nicki Minaj. She also wished to wear the singer’s signature pink wig.

Wall dedicated the Wizards’ double-overtime win over the Boston Celtics to Miyah. “This game was really meant for her. It would’ve been an even tougher day to lose it. I just went into a mode where I didn’t want to lose this game,” reported ESPN.

Before Monday’s game, there was a moment of silence held for Miyah, and Wall wrote “RIP Miyah” on his shoes.
