The newly-released January cover of magazine Vanity Fair has an interesting Easter egg: a half-hidden message seemingly teasing a sex tape featuring Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The cover depicts actor Bradley Cooper shooting pool, with various inside stories written across pool balls. But one pool ball, cut off by the edge of the photo, only reads “-ILL -LASIO -EX -APE!” It doesn’t take a master sleuth to fill in the blanks. (RELATED: De Blasio Sacrifices Jobs To Liberate NYC Horses From ‘Tortured’ Lives)

The New York Times reports that, no, there is not actually any story on a sex tape in Vanity Fair’s January issue. A representative for the magazine gave a bizarre explanation, saying, “That’s what you get for letting Kim Kardashian guest edit the cover lines.”

De Blasio’s wife, Chirlane McCray, emailed an alternate reading to the Times: “Bill de Blasio Spandex Cape? Great idea for Halloween next year!”
