Islamic Terrorist Man Haron Monis: A ‘Lone Wolf,’ Known To Australian Authorities For Years

We all know the pattern by now:

  1. Islamic terrorists endanger and kill innocent people in the name of Allah
  2. Liberals and the media* scramble to distance the Islamic terrorists from “real Muslims”
  3. An “anti-Muslim backlash” is predicted, then forgotten when it doesn’t materialize

Thanks to the ever-increasing speed of the Internet, now the response time is so fast that #2 and #3 were happening before yesterday’s Sydney hostage siege even ended. Smug, fact-free lefties congratulated themselves for the meaningless #illridewithyou hashtag on Twitter, which started trending worldwide in reaction to a wave of Islamophobia that didn’t happen and isn’t going to happen. The very idea that Sydney is somehow less tolerant than any city in the Muslim world is ludicrous on its face, but reality has nothing to do with it. What’s important is that it feels like they’re making a difference.

It reminds me of a joke:

Why are you waving that chicken over your head?
To keep the elephants away.
There aren’t any elephants here.
See???

At the same time that our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters were patting themselves on the back for a futile solution to a nonexistent problem, we were being told that the Islamic terrorist responsible for this crime was a “lone wolf.” He had no connection to any terrorist networks. He was acting on his own.

As if that’s somehow better.

They can’t say they weren’t warned. Way back in 2009, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s Rachael Kohn wrote the following about this piece of garbage:

Almost two years ago, Richard Kerbaj [The Australian, Jan 28 2008] reported that the Melbourne based Shia Muslim leader, Kamal Mousselmani, urged the Australian Federal Police to investigate Sheik Haron, whom Mousselmani claimed was not a genuine religious leader…

He has recently been charged by the AFP for unlawfully using the postal service to “menace, harass or cause offence” to the families of deceased Australian soldiers…

I have read the sheik’s faxes, letters on custom letterhead, and CDs in which he openly promoted the glorious calling of jihad against the West and celebrated the deaths of Australians in war and in the Victorian bushfires.

According to him, the deaths of both soldiers and civilians were the work of Allah, who metes out punishment to those who offend or harm Muslims.

So this guy openly preached hatred for years, and justified it on the basis of his religion. He was a known quantity. He made no secret of it.

Which, of course, has nothing to do with his actions yesterday. Or today’s terrorist atrocity. Or tomorrow’s. Or next week’s. Or anything, ever.

Anybody who connects those dots is a racist. Because Islam is a race.

Now I’ll let you get back to feeling good about yourselves, all you #illridewithyou heroes. Good job reminding us that the real victims are embarrassed Muslims. Not these two infidels:
