Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) went on CNN this morning to chat up host Ashleigh Banfield about the murders of two NYPD cops in Brooklyn.
Rangel was all spiffy in a peach bow tie.
He spoke of politicians not inciting people’s emotions.
“Come to my house for Christmas dinner?” Banfield asked, closing out the segment.
“Okay, that’s a great offer!” Rangel replied, all smiles and laughing.
There’s no reason to kiss a congressman’s ass for coming on TV. But Banfield then thanked the congressman profusely for taking time out of what — his busy holiday schedule? — for coming on during the holidays. Please, the weekend after two policemen are murdered at the hands of a mentally ill black man with a rap sheet? Where else would Rangel be?
Where else would any politician be?
