The 2014 NFL regular season has officially come to a close.

While 12 teams are headed to the postseason, 20 others have the entire off-season to improve their squads or risk another year of groan-inducing disappointment. One team, however, is already making moves toward that end.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted NFC South rival New Orleans on Sunday but had to be bailed out by a big play in order to accomplish their week 17 goals.

Tampa Bay led the Saints by 13 points going into the 4th quarter but still managed to lose in the end. The collapse was made possible by pulling their starting wide receivers and lineman.

While some have criticized Tampa Bay for their “tank at all costs” play calling, I kind of admire them picking a strategy and sticking to it.

The team desperately needs a franchise quarterback, and Sunday’s loss basically guaranteed they will get either Oregon’s Marcus Mariota or FSU’s Jameis Winston with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 draft.

Well played, Bucs. Well played.
