Former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson is suing the Justice Department for illegally spying on her computer while she reported on Obama administration scandals, such as Fast and Furious and Benghazi. (VIDEO: Sharyl Attkisson: White House Hiding Photos Taken Night Of Benghazi Attack)

“I just think it’s important to send a message that people shouldn’t be victimized and throw up their hands and think there’s nothing they can do and they’re powerless,” Attkisson said in an interview with Fox News.

Attkisson claims to have “pretty good evidence” that a series of hacks of her computer were “connected” to the Justice Department. Attkisson first made the hacking allegations in her book “Stonewalled,” and posted a video last year purporting to show her computer being hacked by an outside source.

The Justice Department, for its part, claims to have “never compromised Ms. Attkisson’s computers, or otherwise sought any information from or concerning any telephone, computer, or other media device she may own or use.” (RELATED: Why would anybody want to spy on Sharyl Attkisson’s computer?)
