Conservative commentator Erick Erickson criticized on Friday the logic behind President Obama’s desire to make the first two years of community college free, while wanting to tackle the supposed “rape culture” problem on college campuses at the same time.

In addition to the free community college plan Obama announced on Thursday, the president launched an initiative in January of 2014 to aggressively target rape at American universities — claiming that one in five women have been assaulted in a college setting. However, that statistic is not accurate. According to a Department of Justice report published last month, the actual figure is 0.03 in five.
