Another female high school teacher has been arrested for allegedly having an ongoing, consensual sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student.
This time, the teacher is Jessica Bonnett Acker, reports AL.com.
Acker, 23, was a teacher at Bryant High School in Cottondale, Ala., a hamlet just outside Tuscaloosa.
Even though the tragic victim of the trysts is a grown man, investigators from the juvenile division of the local police force spent their time probing the allegations.
Acker turned herself in after a warrant was issued for her arrest on Friday.
She has also sent a letter of resignation to the Tuscaloosa City School District.
The charge against the teacher is engaging in a sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student under the age of 19.
Acker was married to another man as of May 31 — a little over seven months ago, notes the Daily Mail.
A Facebook profile, which now no longer exists, showed several wedding and wedding-related photographs.
It’s not clear how local authorities found out about the alleged sexual encounters between Acker and the adult male student.
Bail was set at $5,000.
Illegal sex frolics between adult teachers and their 18-year-old students appear to be the latest thing.

A similar story occurred in neighboring Pennsylvania in July when a married, 26-year-old high school English teacher was arrested for having sex with two 18-year-old male students and giving them some beer inside her home while her husband was out of town on business. Also, the allegations against Acker certainly don’t constitute the first sordid teacher-sex tale to come out of the state of Alabama. The Yellowhammer State — with just under five million residents (a little over half the population of New York City) — seems to produce teacher-sex stories like so much kudzu.
