CBS sports commentator Greg Anthony was arrested during an undercover sting on a prostitution ring on Friday.

Washington, D.C. police apprehended Anthony and several other individuals at the Double Tree Hotel on Rhode Island Avenue NW, just a few blocks from the White House.

Before becoming an analyst for CBS, Anthony was a 12-year NBA veteran. He played his college ball at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, whom he led to an NCAA national championship in 1990.

After learning of his arrest, CBS Sports and NBA TV indefinitely suspended Anthony via a press release. Additionally, Turner Sports — which joint manages NBA TV with the league — released the following statement: “Greg Anthony has been suspended indefinitely, and we will have no further comment at this time.”

Police released Anthony on Friday until his arraignment on Feb. 3 after officially charging him with soliciting a prostitute. He told the Associated Press, “I made a mistake… With this lapse of judgment, I embarrassed many, including myself. I will work to regain the trust that I have lost, and the first step is saying that I am sorry.”
