Teacher On Leave For Wishing Students Kept ‘Mouths Shut’ About Beach Sex With His Female Coworkers

Fallout continues this week after a female teacher and a female staffer at South Hills High School in West Covina, Calif. were arrested for allegedly enjoying alcohol-fueled sex romps on the beach with male students during an overnight camping trip.

Now, a third teacher has been placed on paid leave after he published a Facebook rant on Sunday opining that the male students erred because they “squealed” about their sexual exploits.

Covina Valley Unified School District officials placed art teacher Sean Patrick Kane on leave for his frank remarks, reports local NBC affiliate KNBC.

What “is in the heads of the dudes” who had sex with “these ladies and then squealed?” Kane asks incredulously in the Facebook post.

“You should have just kept your stupid mouths shut and enjoyed it,” he counsels sternly.

“Everybody has lost their minds,” the art teacher resignedly concludes.

You can see most of Kane’s Facebook post at LAist. (Part of it is expurgated. That part appears to discuss the actions of a female algebra teacher and “popular senior boys” during Kane’s high school days.)

Kane was suspended for unprofessional conduct.

“We can’t dictate what somebody is going to put on their own personal Facebook page, but at the same time we would expect teachers to be professional,” district spokeswoman Michelle Van Der Linden told KNBC.

The cast of characters in the teacher-sex tale that caused Kane to spout on Facebook includes Melody Lippert, an English teacher at South Hills High School in West Covina, Calif., and Michelle Ghirelli, a school district employee.

There was also a group of high school boys.

Lippert, 38, and Ghirelli, 30, and the students camped out at San Clemente State Beach — about an hour south of West Covina on Orange County’s stunning Pacific Coast. (RELATED: Female Teacher, Staffer Victimize Male Students With Traumatic SEX ON THE BEACH)

Lippert appears to be the ring leader in the frolics. Back in November 2014, investigators say, she gave alcohol to a group of male high school students at San Clemente State Beach and had sex with an underage male student.

The second trip to the same beach with Ghirelli occurred in December. Many of the same students were involved in both trips.

School officials have noted that the trips were not school-sponsored.

The student with whom Lippert allegedly had sex is 18 years old.

The student with whom Ghirelli allegedly had sex appears to be under the age of 18.

“We’re taking the matter very, very seriously,” Van Der Linden told the Los Angeles Times earlier this week.

Van Der Linden also pointed out that both teachers have been placed on paid administrative leave and a letter has been sent home to district parents.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested both teachers this weekend. They are now out on bail.

Like Kane, they are also on paid administrative leave from their jobs.

Lippert, a 15-year veteran teacher with the West Covina school district, faces charges of conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Ghirelli, a school district employee for five years, faces charges of oral copulation and unlawful sex with a minor.

Students at South Hills High have started a Twitter movement (and a petition) urging school district officials to reinstate Kane, a well-liked art teacher.

The hashtag is #FREEKANE.
