Once again, MSNBC’s “The Cycle” had on scientist mechanical engineer Bill Nye to explain why the blizzard hitting the Northeast coast is actually because of global warming. (VIDEO: MSNBC Blames Buffalo Snowstorm On — Of Course — Global Warming)

Nye was actually on the show for an entirely different reason: to discuss Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s theory that cold weather helped deflate the footballs during last weeks AFC Championship game. But towards the end of the segment, he brought up global warming in connection with the ongoing blizzard.

“Everybody, I want to introduce the idea that this storm is connected to climate change,” he said. “I want to introduce that idea. I know there will be certain viewers who will become almost unglued, throwing things at their television set and so on.” (RELATED: Report: Bill Nye, Al Gore Get The Physics Of Global Warming Wrong)

Nye actually admitted that “proving any one storm is connected, especially cold-weather events is quite difficult.” But scientific accuracy be damned, because Nye “just [wanted] to present that.”

“Bill, I love you for bringing that in,” responded host Toure Neblett, “Thank you so much.”
