Word to the wise: if you feel obliged to say something stupid, don’t say it on Twitter, unless you want the entire world to make fun of your ignorance.

Case in point, Twitter user @rkid727 decided it would be a good idea to head to the Interwebs and vent about Marshawn Lynch’s promised — albeit limited — appearance at Super Bowl media day on Tuesday, but for some reason, he decided to try and tie Beastmode’s lack of comments into “American Sniper.”

While @rkid727 might have deleted his tweet, this is 2015, and you can bet your ass someone snagged a screenshot before he removed it from the public forum.

Needless to say, the Internet was not happy with his comparison.

First of all, with all due respect, Chris Kyle didn’t die in the line of of fire; he was unceremoniously gunned down at a gun range on American soil. Secondly, Marshawn Lynch refusing to speak to the media is exactly the the type of freedom Chris Kyle put his life on the line to defend. Lynch goes out and performs his duties at a level few in his profession can claim they’ve reached. The fact that he refuses to speak to reporters is his God given right as an American citizen, a right that the NFL infringes upon by fining him after he refuses to give them any additional money-making sound bites.

The fact that this guy thought it was appropriate to try and slander either name is indicative of the path our nation is heading down.
