MSNBC host Joe Scarborough predicted Hillary Clinton’s opponents would have an easy time connecting her with the continuing chaos in the Middle East.

“Most of the time it is the economy. Sometimes, though, you have something like the Iranian hostage crisis or chaos across the world that combines with a struggling economy to create a toxic mix,” Scarborough said of presidential elections. “Democrats like to talk about Benghazi as it relates to Hillary Clinton.”

“But you look at a lot of things Hillary Clinton said about Russia, a lot of things she said about Syria, a lot of things she said about getting the troops out of Iraq,” Scarborough continued. “You can look at a chaotic world in the Middle East and it’s not too hard for political candidates or opponent to draw a straight line between her work as secretary of state and what’s going on now across the world.”

Todd, concurred, saying it could become a big general election issue, but turned the question over the GOP side of 2016, saying the foreign policy debate on the right will be “the most contentious” issue of the primary.
