Led by LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers poured water on point guard Kyrie Irving after he scored a career-high 55 points in Wednesday’s 99-95 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
In addition to his 55 points, Irving finished the game with five assists, four rebounds and 11 three-pointers. The best part about Irving’s performance was that he started the game 0-7 from the field and still managed to score 55 points.
In the game, he set franchise records for three-pointers made (11), three-pointers attempted (19) and passed Allen Iverson’s 54-point record for most points scored in Quicken Loans Arena.
Irving now has the most points in a game this season passing Golden State Warriors’ shooting guard Klay Thompson and Minnesota Timberwolves’ point guard Mo Williams who both scored 52 points.
