Senate Democrats have sent out emails fundraising off of comedian Jon Stewart’s imminent departure from Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.” (RELATED: Jon Stewart To Announce He’s Leaving ‘The Daily Show’)

The Daily Show set the bar for making politics funny, combining hard-hitting news analysis with a large dose of humor,” the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s email read. “In his nearly two decades on the air, Jon has never been afraid to take hypocritical politicians and their outrageous agendas to task. We’ll miss looking forward to 11 p.m. on weeknights to see how he responds to the day’s news.”

The fundraising email contains an image of Stewart with the words “Sign our card for Jon Stewart.” Clicking on the image gives the reader the option of giving anywhere from $15 to $250 to the DSCC. (VIDEO: Jon Stewart Mocks Vaccine Opponents Despite Once Embracing Them)

The DSCC is hardly the only one to lament Stewart’s departure. The chyrons during Al Sharpton’s MSNBC show, for example, read “The Daily NOOOOOO!” and “We Miss You Already, Jon!”
