Update: PETA has commented further, with Ingrid Newkirk, president, saying, “When God gave Kim a big bottom, he had to take something from the top.”
Kim Kardashian’s decision to dress North West in a $3500 crystal fox fur coat has attracted the attention of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
“Kids are naturally drawn to animals and sympathetic to their plight,” PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in a statement to TheDC, “and there’s no reason to think that North is any different. If the fur coat that she’s been dressed in is real, animals have suffered for vanity, something that we’re sure neither North nor any little girl her age would support.”
The jacket, which North West looked absolutely miserable wearing, is made of crystal fox fur and—if real—costs around $3500.
But this isn’t Kim’s first run-in with PETA activists. Last time, she was left her covered in flour on the red carpet.
Back in 2012, the reality star appeared at a promotion in Los Angeles for one of her fragrances when a woman, with alleged ties to PETA, called Kim a “fur hag” before dumping flour on her head. (RELATED: Did Kim Kardashian Just Forget Her Child At A Hotel?)
And by dumped flour on her head, we mean she set off a freaking flour bomb that exploded all over her.
Maybe Kim should stick to polyester? (RELATED: Kim Kardashian’s Child Is So Miserable Looking)
