In late 2013, Mike Huckabee announced that he was launching a news site. Nothing to do with Fox News, mind you. More in the vein of Arianna Huffington. Except probably no stories involving celebrity sideboob. He’d partner with Christian Media Corp. International. He’d call it Huckabee Post.

He gave interviews. He expressed excitement. Embarrassingly, he “noted” that he had superior Facebook skills and was especially good at running his own personal website. He even said Facebook was impressed with his Facebook skills. “Facebook has taken notice and they feel like we have accomplished in many ways what they wanted Facebook to be,” he told Politico, which reported the alleged “news.”

At the time, Mediaite reported that a Craigslist ad was calling for reporters in New York and Washington.

Except guess what? This so-called Huckabee Post, which was supposed to materialize in 2014, never happened. And perhaps a good thing. Huckabee has since left Fox News and is once again hoping to jump into the 2016 presidential race.

How could you run this type of news organization and run for president?

Short answer: you couldn’t.

On a side note, as one Washington journalist mentioned, “He ain’t skinny anymore.”
