Monday night’s Kansas-Kansas State match showed how easily a college rivalry can get of hand.
After KSU’s upset over the eighth-ranked Jayhawks,70-63, a sea of rowdy fans flooded the court at the echo of the final buzzer.
The sheer volume of enthused fans crushed Kansas head coach Bill Self near the scorers’ table. Kurtis Townsend, one of KU’s assistant coaches, was seen attempting to subdue a rambunctious fan with a brief headlock.

Court storming is a common practice in both college basketball and football games, but Monday’s demonsrtation may have taken it too far. At least Self seems to believe so.
