Update: A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department has now confirmed that Harrison Ford is in stable condition.

Harrison Ford was piloting a small plane that crash-landed on a Venice, Ca. golf course Thursday, and the actor is now in critical condition.

The vintage two-seater fighter plane hit the greens of the Penmar Golf Course, located near the Santa Monica airport, around 2:30 p.m. local time after it had mechanical issues, and reports say the 72-year-old was the sole occupant of the plane.

Ford had multiple gashes on his head and was bleeding, and two physicians who were at the golf course treated Ford until emergency services arrived.

“There was blood all over his face,” Howard Tabe, an employee at the Penmar Golf Course, said.

“Two very fine doctors were treating him, taking good care of him. I helped put a blanket under his hip.”

Ford was taken to a local hospital to be treated for head injuries.
