This Is The Delta Plane That Slid Off The LaGuardia Runway

The Federal Aviation Administration closed LaGuardia Airport in New York City amid a snowstorm Thursday after a landing Delta Air Lines commercial plane slide off the runway and crashed Thursday morning.

According to the FAA, Delta Air Lines Flight 1086 from Atlanta to LaGuardia slid off the left side of LaGuardia’s runway 13 and crashed into a fence around 11 a.m. At the time of the crash, LaGuardia reported heavy snow with visibility of a quarter-mile and temperatures below 30 degrees Fahrenheit and falling.

The New York Fire Department and Port Authority officials arrived on the scene quickly, and passengers reportedly suffered only minor injuries.

Passengers aboard the flight, including New York Giants tight end Larry Donnell, uploaded photos and video of the downed MD-88 to Instagram after exiting the aircraft.
