Apple unveiled the latest iteration of the Macbook in its thinnest, lightest form ever at the Apple “Spring Forward” event Monday.

The new Macbook is 13.1 mm thin, weighs just 2 pounds and is 24-percent thinner than the previous Macbook Air. It features a slew of new features including a redesigned keyboard, trackpad, 12-inch Retina display and new gold, silver and space gray colors.

Apple removed the fans and redesigned the logic board to be 67 percent smaller than any previous Macbook. It includes a new Intel M processor boasting 1.3GHz, which can be turbocharged up to 2.9GHz. Apple filled up the rest of the space in the new Macbook with new sheet-like batteries boasting 35 percent-more battery life, which makes for a 9-hour lifespan for web browsing and 10 hours for video.

The Macbook includes a new USB-C connection port and combines USB, DisplayPort, Power, HDMI, VGA into one connector. USB-C is a third the size of a standard USB cable and is reversible.

The new Macbook starts at $1299 and will start shipping April 10.
