In an appearance on the “Today” show, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren told co-host Savannah Guthrie that she will not run for the White House in 2016.

“No, I’m not running, and I’m not going to run,” Warren said. “I’m in Washington. I’ve got this really great job and a chance to try and make a difference on things that really matter.”

Guthrie pressed Warren multiple times about the possibility of a White House run. The “Today” co-host also asked the Massachusetts senator if Hillary Clinton “will give a credible voice” to the issues that Warren cares about, specifically “whether the middle class is getting a fair shake.”

“I think we need to give her a chance to decide if she’s going to run and to lay out what she wants to run on,” she told Guthrie. “I think that’s her opportunity to do that.”

Warren added that she never even contemplated a run for higher office.
