Gwyneth Paltrow is living on food stamps.

Chef Mario Batali, a board member of Food Bank for New York City, recently nominated Paltrow to take the “Food Bank Challenge,” where celebrities are challenged to limit their family food budget to $29 per week in order to see what it’s like for families who rely on food stamps.

Paltrow, who said she was “walking in their shoes to see how far we get,” shared a photo of the groceries she bought for $29 on Twitter.

Judging by her purchases, she won’t be getting very far.

It’s doubtful that any family living on food stamps would buy seven limes, two different kinds of lettuce and cilantro.

The idea of the challenge is to fight cuts to SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program relied on by more than 46 million Americans.

Keep in mind that Paltrow’s “lifestyle” blog Goop recommends buying $100 crop tops for toddlers, $80 socks and a $1,000 shot glass.

She has yet to update her followers on how her week is going, but those on Twitter were not amused by Paltrow’s antics.
