One thing you certainly can’t say about Chris Christie is that he lacks self-confidence.

During an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt Tuesday, the New Jersey governor predicted that he will beat Hillary Clinton if he decides to run for and win the GOP nomination in 2016.

“Let me ask you about Mrs. Clinton’s campaign. Can you beat her, Chris Christie?” Hewitt asked Christie, who spent Tuesday in New Hampshire.

“If I run, I will beat her,” Christie said definitively.

“And which blue states do you take away that Mitt Romney could not get and why do you win there?” Hewitt asked.

“Well let’s start in Pennsylvania where folks have seen me operate as governor of New Jersey over the course of the last five and a half years, and I think have a real comfort level with the type of leadership I provide,” Christie said. “So, if I were to run, I think Pennsylvania’s a state that is very much in play. I think New Mexico is a state that is very much in play. I think the state I’m in today, New Hampshire, is a state that would be very much in play. So let’s start off with those three.”

Notably, Christie did not mention New Jersey, the state he currently governs and one which President Barack Obama won handily in 2008 and 2012.
