A nightclub owner in Maryland faces a possible life sentence for the crime of selling and distributing marijuana.

On Friday, 39-year-old Jason Miskiri plead guilty to conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana, according to release from the Drug Enforcement Administration, which also detailed Miskiri’s possible sentence of life for the crime.

The court determined that not only had been Miskiri been selling the drug since 2009, but he also funneled the proceeds into opening a nightclub, named The Society Restaurant & Lounge. The club is located in Silver Springs, Maryland.

According to the authorities, Miskiri trafficked anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 kilograms of marijuana, often receiving shipments from California, Texas and Arizona to his other establishment, Island Flavors Restaurant in Laurel, Maryland. His biggest purchases were from an organization run by Garfield Mullings, who was previously sentenced to five years in prison on May 29, 2014, and forced to give up $12,190,000.

Miskiri brought in approximately $1 million dollars for each load, but due to the work of the Houston Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety, in concert with Maryland police and federal authorities, Miskiri was finally nabbed.

For starters, Miskiri will have to abandon his interest in the nightclub, and second, since he did not file tax returns for any of his years of drug trafficking, he’ll have to pay back taxes from 2009 to 2015.

Sentencing won’t occur until September 14.
