Who’s Telling The Truth, John Kerry Or Iran?

Font Size:

Trick question. They could both be lying, of course.

Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon:

Secretary of State John Kerry told his Iranian counterpart that he wished the United States had a leader more like Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, according to comments made by a senior Iranian cleric and repeated in the country’s state-run media.

Ayatollah Alam al-Hoda claimed during Friday prayer services in Iran that in negotiations over Tehran’s contested nuclear program, Kerry told the country’s foreign minister that he “wished the U.S. had a leader like Iran’s supreme leader…”

A senior administration official told the Washington Free Beacon that such a contention is patently absurd.

Yeah, you’d think John Kerry would remember saying something like that. It would be seared — seared — into his memory.

So, who are we supposed to believe? If the Iranians are lying about this, what else are they lying about? If we can’t take their word on this, why should we take their word on anything else? If this is part of their negotiating process, why are we negotiating with them?

It’s almost like they know Obama is so desperate to make a deal, they can humiliate him to their shriveled little hearts’ content and he’ll just keep groveling. It’s a lose/lose for Kerry. No matter how he responds, he’s showing Obama’s lack of leadership. He’s proving the mullahs right.

“Our partners in peace are lying!” Terrific.

I’d applaud Iran’s utterly superior gamesmanship, if their ultimate goal wasn’t to nuke all the Jews off the face of the earth.
