1. White males dominate Sunday talk shows… Media writer Jack Mirkinson applauds the hire of Jake Tapper for CNN’s “State of the Union.” But that’s where his praise for Sunday morning TV ends. In a piece for Salon, he laments the fact that now all the Sunday morning shows have white males at the helm. Same goes for the big three newscasts minus Lester Holt. “It is a serious failing for news organizations whose purported mission is to bring us a full and clear picture of our world.” he writes. “Just one look at the dreadful coverage of the situation in Baltimore is enough to understand that.” Read here.
